SubscriberHello all,
I am trying to simulate the following the Pneu-net Actuator below. For those who don't know what it is, it is an elastomeric actuator that inflates and bends from pressure being filled into these vertical structures: https://softroboticstoolkit.com/book/pneunets-bending-actuator

SubscribernnApologies for getting back to you so late. Thanks for the suggestion. I have attached some pictures of what I did.nIn the first two pictures, you'll see the bottom layer of the Pneu-Net. On the face of this, I have added a surface coating with 0.1mm thickness.n
Here are my analysis settings.n
Finally, I have attached my unconverged solution:n
The force residuals:n
And finally, the Newton-Rhapson residuals:n

I have a lot of problems here, but was not sure where to begin. It seems that I can resume my solution from restart points? I am sure my materials, loading and the rest are right as I have tested this on a model without paper and have checked other things. Help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need additional info.nKind Regardsnn

SubscribernThere are many settings required to make Hyperelastic models converge.nHave you used all the items mentioned in this link?n/forum/discussion/18002/convergence-during-large-deflection-of-hyperelastic-materials/p1nFebruary 17, 2021 at 7:28 pmPneuSCP
SubscriberI still end up around the same point with an unconverged solution. I can use KEYOPT,matid,6,1. But KEYOPT,matid,2,1 doesn't seem to work. Is there something wrong with the way I applied the surface coating? Let me know if you need any more information. Maybe I didn't mesh it correctly?.Kind RegardsnViewing 4 reply threads- The topic ‘Simulating Pneu-Net Actuator’ is closed to new replies.
