Is there any rigid body motion, or are you getting any elements with high distortion-related issues? Are you using frictional contact? From this statement, “the contact state has changed abruptly.” We can suggest the following points to check. 1. Check the contact status and see the status of the contact. Adjust the pinball radius if required. 2. Increase the substeps and mesh density. 3.
