SubscriberI am working on a research project to analyze the manoevering characteristics in confined waters, i am considering, confined channels and ship-ship conditions.Â
my input parameters are:
Ship speed, propeller rate, drift angle, rudder angle, lateral distance and under keel clearance.
I am new to ansys and i'm not sure how to go about it in ansys.Â
Please any help will be a good step in the right direction.
Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeHi,
I suggest you use multiphase model like VOF and in addition you need to use 6DOF to understand dynamic fluid body interaction.
You can check tutorial on multiphase and 6DOF here:Chapter 21: Using the VOF Model (ansys.com) Chapter 14: Using Overset and Dynamic Meshes (ansys.com)
Thank you.
