SubscriberHi,
My geometry contains 2 fluid domains separated by a interface. During the simulations, I convert one of the fluid zone into solid. Hence a shadow wall is automatically created.
But when I bring back the solid zone into fluid zone, the shadow wall is not getting deleted automatically. Even I tried to delete manually, but it is not possible.
Would anyone suggest a method to delete the shadow wall?

Ansys EmployeeVerify if that "name-shadow" is still interpreted as a wall: if yes try to change it to interior (if mesh is conform otherwise an interface is required).

SubscriberHi DrAmine Thank you for the reply.
Still it is interpreted as wall. and no option available to change.
While importing the fluid zones into the fluent, the interface is automatically created. But, when change the one of fluid zones to solid, shadow wall is created.
When I bring the back zones again to fluid, the shadow wall is not removed or changed to interior.

Forum ModeratorThat may be linked to how the interface condition is assigned to the fluid:fluid and fluid:solid system. What does the interface setting look like?

Forum ModeratorIs there a reason for needing a nonconformal mesh, or just that you didn't know to share topology? What do you see if you edit "contact_region"?

Forum ModeratorLeave them blank, if you click on Help it'll explain what they're for and they're not needed for a fluid-fluid interface most of the time. That mesh looks to be about the same so I'm slightly confused why you didn't use share topology to give a conformal mesh. Interfaces are really useful but I only use them if I need them.

SubscriberHi Rob Then why the shadow wall is created? How to remove the wall? Because of the shadow wall, fluid is not entering into the fluid zone.

Forum ModeratorThe wall should only do anything if the interface isn't connecting (ie there's no overlap). However, as you've set the zone to be fluid from solid you may have confused the solver. Delete the interface and see what boundaries are left, display these to see where they are & post the results.
