SubscriberHello, everyone, I'm trying to model soil settlement for a long time under an embankment so the load will be the gravitational load provides by the embankment. the settlement will be focused on the soil underneath the embankment. time stepping can be used? what are the keys to providing long term soil settlement function? how to activate these properties to conduct long term settlement of soil generally. thank you

Ansys EmployeeHello,Â
Please refer to verification manual example, VM260 - Two-Dimensional Consolidation Settlement Problem, in ANSYS help documentation for reference.
Also, please go through the section, 2.12. Structural-Pore-Fluid-Diffusion-Thermal Analysis (https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/Views/Secured/corp/v193/ans_cou/Hlp_G_COU_porefluiddiffstruct.html) for further reference.Â
Hope this helps.Â
Best regards,
Rohith

SubscriberYes, Mr. Amin, it's a 3D model basically contained 4 main soil types in the soil. I will consider 40m x 40m size and 24m depth of soil strata for the analysis. plan to use gravitational force to the soil from the embankment. the sudden settlement is easy to perform. but when its come to long term settlement I don't have a clear path to go. thanksÂ
