SubscriberMay I ask why, when simulating metamaterial surfaces, the substrate is not entirely placed within the simulation region, as shown in the second image below? Although it doesn't affect the phase, it does have an impact on the transmittance. Why is the option of placing the entire substrate inside not considered?

Thank you for reaching out to us! I believe that the reason is to reduce the time and storage consumption. Since in the metameterial surfaces simulation we focus on the phase results and these are not affected from the simulation region, then going for your first case should be enough.
