I want to apply an earthquake time history on a soil-structure system to obtain the seismic response of the system. I'm wondering if someone has a similar experience to help me.

Hi Ali,

In ANSYS, performing a seismic analysis typically involves a modal analysis followed by a response spectrum analysis with the base excitation. The base is constrained and excited, reflecting the seismic conditions. However, seismic analysis is not suitable for free-standing or non-anchored structures because they don't have base excitation.
