We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

Seg faults in Ansys Mechanical

One of our researchers is running a project on Ubuntu 22.04 and Ansys 23.2.  He's seeing segfaults like what is shown below.  A little hex math shows that these all point to the same location in libxmlb.so.2: line 15DF7.  Output from 'addr2line -e /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libxmlb.so.2 -fCi 0x15DF7' says 'xb_opcode_cmp_str'.  Any ideas for correcting this?

Does this happen with all Projects?
If so, I would start by verifying that all prerequisite libraries are install per the Linux installation guide.

The researcher has tried a couple of projects, and they also failed.

All of the prerequisite libraries are installed.  We also tried reinstalling Ansys 23.2, but that didn't help.
