SubscriberHi dear experts,
I have transient flow with a time step number of 5000 and I want to just save the data on the last 3000. I tried to do it manually but it does not work well.
Do you have any ideas for doing it?
Best regards,

Forum ModeratorIf you're in Fluent you only have the data for that time step, plus any averaging you've done. If you want earlier time step values you'll need to re-run the calculation.Â

SubscriberDear rwoolhou,
Thank you for your quick answer, I want to save the results between the number of time steps 2000 and 5000.
I tried to do it manually, which means that at the beginning of the calculation, I did not activate the automatic recording. When the program reaches 2 000 time steps, I activated the autosave. In general, I think the results should be recorded between 2,000 and 5,000, but when the program reaches 3,000 number of time steps, it has saved those results. Normally it should not be recorded the results in the interval 0 and 3000, it must save the results between 2000 and 5000 number of time steps.
Best regards

Forum ModeratorThe value you put in is the sort of the frequency. If I set a value of 100 data is saved every time the number of time steps is divisible by 100: not every 100 time steps from when I set the value in the panel.Â
So, using the 100 example. If I set at 99 time steps I get an auto save almost immediately (at time step 100). If I set at time step 101 I have to wait 99 steps for 200.Â

SubscriberDear rwoolhou,Â
Thank you very much for your response,so what is the good value that I have to put in my case,
so that the code just saves the last 3000 number of time steps.
Best regards,

Ansys EmployeeYou need to do that either manually or via some scripting/journaling.
