Hi Forum,
I am running a fully structured ALE problem (meaning both the projectile and target are AMMGs and no Lagrangian parts are included). I see some voids and am wondering if this is normal? Is this contributing to my simulation in a negative way? My understanding is that this could be a numerical artifact of the void closure algorithm required for this type of ALE formulation, but would like to confirm.
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,
This is just an artifact of LSPREPOST approximation display of the volume fractions of the ALE materials. If you refine the mesh, this "gap" will diminish.Â
