Running the aeroacoustics for multiphase flow in the pipe

      Hi,

I need to run the simulation of noise generated of two phase fluid gas/liquid flow in the pipe.
I plan to use the LES model for acoustics and FW-H model for the acoustics simulation.

      Here are few question:

      1. Can I use the LES + VOF/Eulerian/mixture method to model the gas/liquid two phase fluid flow in the pipe? And which model is most recommended?
      2. For the acoustics model, I plan to use the FW-H model. Is it ok to calculate the two phase gas/liquid fluid flow in the pipe? If not, should I use the wave equation method?
      3. I need to set the receiver inside the pipe, is it ok to use the FW-H model? Because I learn that FW-H model is for the Far-field receiver? How should i define the near field and far field?

Hello, for questions 2 and 3, I would tell you that if you are running LES, then you would not need FW-H nor the wave equation method. Those 2 methods are used to propage acoustic source data to receivers that are located: in regions that are not resolved to the same precision, or to farfield regions outside of your computational domain. If your receiver is inside of the pipe and in a region resolved to LES precision, then you can monitor your acoustics directly.

Let me get back to you for question 1.
