SubscriberHi everyone!
I had been a user of Maxwell and RMXPRT for many years when it was an Ansoft Product. I am starting with the new version for my students, it is great. However, there is something, apparently simple, that I can't understand no matter how much I read the help. When selecting a machine in RMXPRT, there are multiple options. "General", "Standard", "Maxwell Model Wizard" and "Generate RMXPRT solutions". In order not to complicate the question, I'll summarise it for you.
1. The machine type change depending on the selection "Generate or Standard". Is there any difference in the handling of each model?
2. I have an error, depending on the selection I make, I can't use some materials for the magnetic laminations. Would you be so kind as to give me some indication?
Thanks a million!

Ansys EmployeeIn RMxprt, the selection between "Generate" and "Standard" indeed changes the machine type and the handling of each model. When you choose "Generate RMxprt Solutions", it enables the "General" and "Standard" radio buttons.
The "General" option allows you to pick the desired Generic Rotating Machine (GRM) machine type from the expandable list. This option provides various pre-defined generic rotating machine types for you to choose from. On the other hand, the "Standard" option changes the listing to the basic RMxprt machine templates. This option provides other pre-defined machine types for you to select. For more details, please refer RMxprt Manuel for more details.
For advanced materials, please create a Maxwell model.

SubscriberThank you very much Miranda,Since I wrote the post I have been working with both types of machines, I am sorry to have bothered you because my problem came from an error in the way of assigning materials that I could not see, not having opened the Message Manager. I was left wondering about something that I have not been able to check yet. According to the manual: "You can select either Maxwell Model Wizard or Generate RMxprt Solutions. If Maxwell Model Wizard is selected, you can create an RMxprt design aimed for Maxwell design creation only". I don't want you to waste any more time, please, just one line is enough. I always used RMXPRT when the product was from Ansoft and as far as I can see now, the export of the geometric model to Maxwell is straightforward. Is there any change if the workflow starts with the selection of Maxwell Model Wizard? Sorry to ask you the question, but the set up, server installation, licensing, etc. for my Electrical Engineering Degree students got so far behind that I am working with them at the same time I am adapting to the new program.Thank you really, you have been very kind ????.Manés
