      Hello,

Please see if the following forum thread helps you: Reducing Result File Size in Transient-Thermal-Electric Simulation (ansys.com)

Thanks for the quick reply, the forum did provide some useful insight. However, I am failling to understand how to applied the OUTRES command to all the loadsteps, let's say I use the following command in the PREP7/:

      OUTRES,ERASE
      OUTRES,all,NONE
      OUTRES,STAT

I expect it to apply to all the loadsteps. However, according to my tests it applies to the first loadstep only. Am I missing something or is there a way to apply the OUTRES to all the loadsteps with a single command, because my simulation contains a high number of loadsteps.

      Cheers,

I know that using outres, the size of the output file can be reduced, but there is also an alternative method using the output controls in the Ansys analysis settings. In the Ansys analysis settings, you can find the output controls, and here you can find an option to store results using different options available.

Analysis setting < Outputcontrosl < Store results at < Choose the option

Please check all the options. I generally use the specific recurrence rate of 5 , which stores the results for every 5 substeps(As shown in the image ). This is a very simple way of doing it, but just give it a try.

      Bests,

      Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion, I am using APDL, but I'll try to find the equivalent command and give it a go.
