Reason for huge computational time?

      Hi,

I am working on axial load application on steel columns. I did two simulations.

Simulation 1: Only axial load applied on the top of the column and computational time is not more than 30 minutes. The termination is 1 second

Simulation 2: There are multiple restart decks in this simulation

So, the simulation 2 goes like this

      1. Blast loading phase on column with termination time 0.5 ms and computational time is 60 minutes. The air mesh was deleted at the end of the simulation
      2. Damping applied phase so that the column comes to rest position with termination time 30 ms and computational time is 40 minutes. And irrelevant parts were deleted
      3. Application of axial load phase like simulation 1 with termination time of 1 second and the computational time is nearly 15 hours. I continued more or less like simulation 1 still it is taking huge time.

May I know how can I solve this issue so that I can run simulations faster?
