Random Vibration Analysis Repeat sequence

      Hello,

I have input PSDs for 60 minutes worth of testing but I want to generate a response of my structure for a total of 180 minutes. How would I do this in Ansys.

Do I need to convert my PSDs all the way down to time domain and then calculate it back just so it covers and gives data back for 180 minutes worth.

      Appreciate any insight to this.

      Thank you

Why is the exposure time important?  Are you attempting to evaluate the fatigue life?  If so, you can use the Mechanical Fatigue Tool and specify the desired exposure duration.  The FT will calculate the fatigue damage for the full exposure.

      Hi Daniel,

I am not trying to find the fatigue life but rather wanting to find the effect of the run that would be on my system if it ran for a longer period of time. Wouldnt that make a difference to the given PSD inputs or it will change if it had to run for a longer than given time.

are you trying to generate a different spectrum?  If so, the MAPDL RESP command can generate a response spectrum from a time transient analysis.  It cannot generate a response spectrum from another response spectrum.
