I'm trying to use solution steering to speed up my calculations. In the steering setting, there are two ways to update the CFL number in stage2, namely immediately and after. What is the difference between these two?

If you look at the panel there's a Help button. Click that and see what it says.

It's what it says. Immediate will adjust the courant number every iteration, after will be after another 20 (in the panel you posted) iterations. When it works you'll see a residual plot that resembles steps going down.

Thanks for your answer,if immediate is to update the CFL number every iteration, what does the following "Courant number update interval"mean?Why do I still need to set a Courant number of update steps´╝ƒ

Pass, it may just be a glitch on the panel. I've never used the function.
