Hi, I am simulating a large pressure vessel in Ansys. The two baseplates in the cut out are heavy and I was hoping to Topology Optimization to notionally lightweight the parts while minimizing stress. However, I have an issue with my optimization region and I am unable to determine what the issues is. I have attached a picture of the model. Any help would be much apperciated. Thanks!

Hi Jacob,

Can you switch the optimization to some other metod other than density based (such as level set based) and check  ?

I tried the other optimization schemes. The optimization region is still not well define. Do you have any idea what may be causing this?
