Question Regarding ANSYS Mechanical APDL License Upgrade

  Hi,
  If I install the student version of ANSYS Mechanical APDL and later add the university-wide license, will the installation automatically upgrade to the full version?

  Hello there,
  The installation is different for students and commercial packages.
  You might need to install separate packages as well.
  Students version is usually installed under 'C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\ANSYS Student' whereas for Commercial you it is in 'C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc'.
  If you wish to upgrade to the full version, I suggest reinstalling the full package as an admin.

  Hi,
  If you have a student and are installing the full version of the software, you MUST uninstall Student first as the license managers don't play well together.
