Hello everyone,
I have a question about the Local Adaptation feature in the Virtual Human Vision Lab as described in the Speos documentation. I’m curious if anyone could shed light on the type of local tone mapping operator used in this implementation. Are there any references or related studies that explain the details of this operator?
Additionally, in this part of the documentation:
"With Local adaptation, the accommodation is on a fixed point of the luminance map. In Luminance, change the luminance value of this point in Cd/m². When you open a luminance map, this value is equal to the average luminance of the map."
Could someone clarify whether the luminance value we enter here serves as an anchor point for the local tone mapping process?
Thanks so much for any insights or information you might be able to share!
