I'm very much a beginner and have only used Ansys CFD for obtaining a pressure and temperature contour for a vehicle. I'm attempting to simulate a cryocooler model that features an input, aftercooler, regenerator, pulse tube, reservoir and the necessary heat exchangers. I did find some guides on producing a simulation for a porous material (being the regenerator), piping and valves but can't seem to find any information on what to do for the pulse tube itself, including different papers which produced simulations of the PTR but sadly did not give enough information on how to reproduce it. Anything regarding information that'll send me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Staff are only able to advise on the software, you need to figure out the physics. I suggest doing some more reading to understand what the various components do, and how the fluid behaves. From there decide what you want (need) to model and work from there.Â
