Ansys EmployeeHello,
When you use the Symmetry Region, the symmetric boundary condition constrains the movement of nodes on the symmetry plane. For example, if the symmetry plane is along the YZ plane, the displacement in the X-direction will be constrained to zero for nodes on the symmetry plane. I can see in your model that you have penetration with the neighboring body in the lateral direction that is not constrained by the symmetric boundary condition.
