SubscriberHi
I was wondering if there is any model available in FLUENT to model initial pollution at the specific location into the domain (by patching) other than Species transport and DPM as they increase computational cost and make simulations with LES infeasible?
Many thanks

Forum ModeratorSpecies is one extra equation so won't add much cpu load to a LES model.

thanks for your reply; but it will automatically turn the energy equation on; I tested this and double up the computational time! Maybe it was because of the bad setting!

Forum ModeratorWhy does it turn the energy equation on? Maybe check the mixture settings in case you've added ideal gas for density. Even then it shouldn't double the cpu cost. How are you doing for RAM?

SubscriberI don't know why the energy equation turns on! even when the volumetric reaction is deactivated. It is an automatic process, when you try to turn the energy equation off it says for species transport it should be on.
About the computational cost, actually, I added many inlets for the gas inlet, maybe it is the reason for increasing CPU time.
If you mean computer RAM, it is 192GiB on each node (40 processors). I ran this case on one node.

Forum ModeratorCheck the mixture and species properties, one of those may need energy. I've run buoyancy models with upwards of 1500 boundary conditions using RNG k-e & energy without noticing any significant slow down.
