Periodic boundary condition in two dimension

      Greetings Ansys Team,

I am trying to design a 3D solar cell model in FDTD solver by defining the boundary condition periodic in both the x and y directions (PML z).

I have set the boundary condition periodic in the x and y directions.

While working with the "solar_generation" analysis group, if I define "periods" parameter 3, it only calculates in the x direction [4 5 6] and averages the y dimension by default (Suppose the design is a 3*3 unit cell design with this matrices number where each number signifies a single unit cell (XY view) [1 2 3; 4 5 6; 7 8 9]).

I tried to modify the script file, but it failed to calculate and extract appropriately create ".mat" file for importing in CHARGE solver.

Can you give me some insight into how to modify the build-in script code for generating and calculating G, Pabs data for periodic in both dimensions (X&Y)

I have added some settings for clearly understanding the problem

Hello and thank you for contacting us.

In order to add periods in both x and y direction, you need to modify the script as following (indicative script that includes only G_matrix_export but can be used for Pheat_matrix_export result too):

This means that first you need to calculate the G_matrix_export result and x_export for the number of periods in x direction and then use this result to calculate the G_matrix_export result and x_export for the number of periods in y direction. You can also use a different number of periods in x and y direction by setting two different parameters.

      Best regards,

      Afroditi
