pathlines plot to file with text commands

  Hello,
  how can I save the data of a pathlines plot to a file using only text commands? The pathlines dialog box shows the option "write to file", but I cannot find a text command that does the same.
  Using /plot/file-set/plot-to-file and then generating the xy-plot of the pathlines does generate a file, but it is empty.
