Hey,
This is in regards to observing particle volume on a surface using 'user processes' in Ansys ROCKY.
I have used a cube around the area I need to observe, I just need particle volume on this surface within the enclosure, I tried using 'user processes' to find the particle volume but I'm not getting a definite value for each time step.
Please comment on how to get volume of particles on a surface.
Thanks,
Kiran -

Hello Kiran,Â
Â
Do you want to get the volume of particles inside the Cube <01>?Â
In this case, you could go to Properties | Particle Volume and right-click it to Show in new time plot by Sum. Thus you will get the volume of particles inside the cube for all outputs.Â
Â
Best regards,Â
Lucas

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, is there a way I can obtain particle accumulation height?
Averaged value at the end of the simulation?Â

Yes, either on Particles or in a child User Process Properties tab, plot (in a Time Plot, for example) Coordinate : Y (or X or Z, depending on what is your 'height' axis) by Average.
Besides using a Time Plot, you can go to Rocky Menu | Tools and enable Expressions/Variables, then drag the property you want to analyze on the Output tab and filter properly.

Hi,
by taking the particle propety like Coordinate : YÂ we are getting the position of the particle center. From your shematic figure, you would like to get the height besed on the particle surface.
For spheres, you would need to create a new Variable for particles, called particle property by adding the Coordinate : Y with the Particle Size/2.  Then you time plot the Maximum over time.ÂFor a spacial average height value, one idea is to map a eulerian statistics of the newly created "surface coordinate"

Hello Kiran and Lucas,
I have downloaded the WorkBench based Fluent, I have to learn from the basics to do simulations for my PhD research work, usually I am looking for the simulation of Fluid or air in the Tunnel (or mining purpose). Please guide me that from where I can get start from the very basic to the simluation step by step. I will be highly grtaefulk for your prompt response.
