Particle filtration in ddpm model

      I am simulating a filtration process in 2d plane (5 mm x 10 mm; shown below) with a 100-micron hole size. The mesh size is 5 microns. The inlet has 1000 faces. I pass water at a velocity of  0.1 m/s and the particle at 0.1 m/s. The transient simulation time is 1s with a step size of 0.001 s. I turned on stochastic collision and tracked 0.5 million particles at high resolution. But, I could not see the filtration effect like a 100-micron hole should retain a 200-micron particle. Some particles are trapped in the wall. Other than that, I could not see particles trapped in the hole. I tracked the mass flow rates and pressure along the lines chosen in the 2d domain (shown in figure). The mass flow rate was chosen to adhere to 10-12% volume occupancy of particles. I do not exactly know, which parameter I'm missing to study the filtration effect.

      Have a careful look at the DPM documentation. DDPM gives a bridge between DPM and Eulerian. If you want to see a filter cake (particle) build up you need Ansys Rocky or the MPM model in Fluent. Fluent's DEM model is DPM based so has the same limitations (albeit with some extra maths for other collision checks).
