SubscriberHas any one had experience in using the parameter set with part transformations.
I'm trying to simulate a different initial positions for one of my parts in an imported parasolid file using transform. When I transform the part form inside mechanical, I can apply transformation, mesh of the part just offsets and I can F5 to rerun the simulation. But when I try to parameterize the X/Y Part transforms and update Design points from the parameter set window, I get an error:
Update of the Solution component in
for design point n failed: Error updating cell Solution in system for design point n. Is it possible to do even do part transforms from the parameter set. (This is an LS-DYNA simulation btw)

Ansys EmployeeHey,Â
Part transformations are possible from parameter set, even if its a LS- DYNA simulation.
- Check if you have linear order elements only in the model.
- Try to retain the solution for all design points.
- Check whether the transformations you intend to do is actually being applied for all design points.
- Try solving the model for one trasnformation alone (without parameterizing) and check if the model completes the run.
- Try to review the solve.out file even if the simulation failed, It should point out to some error for why the simulation failed.
If it still doesn't work, try to share some insights on the model setup and how you are transforming the parts in the mechanical.

Subscriber@mohan,Â
Thanks a lot! The 'retain solution' seems to have done the trick. Thanks a lot for the help :)Â
