Parameter sweeps don’t work in Lumerical FDTD R2.3

      I learned Lumerical FDTD over the last week, and the parameter sweeps and S-parameter sweeps used in it (as configured by the provided scripts) do not work. They keep giving the "Error: prompt line 1: syntax error" error message. I then tried to set up a simple simulation with only a source and a monitor (and a solver region), and swept the z position of the source (using the GUI to configure the sweep). This still didn't work. Is this a problem in the newest version?

      "syntax error" error message mostly appears in script. Do you have any groups, or check the "model" and see if there is any script.

      Please check this example https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034922873-Parameter-sweep-utility

      I did a quick test with a new project file and new sweep object and it works fine:

      I don't have any groups, and my "model" object doesn't contain any scripts. My setup should be almost identical to yours, but it's still saying syntax error.

      I would suggest you to have clean installation: https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/5613618572947-Fixing-installation-or-licensing-issues uninstall the current one first, clean all related files, reinstall it. You may also redo a new project file, or test this one: taper https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042800413-Linear-waveguide-taper

      Ok, but my installation is based on using the MS-MPI because I have VS Code also installed on my computer. Is there anything I should do differently to what the page says?

      @rjz23,

      To debug the issue, please assist us with the following:

      1. Run a simulation example from our website, >>Parameter sweep utility – Ansys Optics ? Run this directly and also run the the sweep as shown in the image below.
      2. Download a simulation and script (.lsf) from our website, e.g. >>Photonic Crystal Slab (RCWA) – Ansys Optics
      3. Run the script from the example above #2 and send a screenshot of the error message (if any).

      Run simulation and sweep

      Run part/selection of script:
