SubscriberHi,
I'm new to this forum. I need to study the contact status under harmonic response and sometimes in random vibration. I know that, these 2 analysis are linear and nonlinear effect cant be included. Full transient analysis is computationally expensive and not feasible to do. What is the best way to determine contact opening study? -

Hi
As you said harmonic and random analysis are linear so can not have/include nonlinearities (like the nonlinear contacts you describe, e.g., frictionless and frictional).Â
Transient dynamic analysis is needed here. In this type of analysis, one can have a swept-sine signal (https://www.ni.com/docs/en-US/bundle/labwindows-cvi/page/advancedanalysisconcepts/lvac_frequency_sweep.html)
All the best
