Node to Surface thermal contact issues

for SPG simulation is it not possible to set node to surface contact for coupled structural thermal anaylsis. the solver returns, that i have to set surface to surface contact in this case.

this is my contact set up, but when i change to surface to surface its takes off this error. but that is not the standard i know for node to surface contact set up like SPG.

      if anyone could guide.

      Hi,

For the warning, see if you have applied multiple definitions of the same degree of freedom of nodes corresponding to the rigid part.

I am not sure of the question here, but usually, temperature due to mechanical work is supported in SPG.

However, the heat transfer between SPG/FEM through contact is not possible.

      Cheers, Ram

      Hi Ram,

Thanks for your reply, but i do not understand what you mean by the first line of your response.

yeah am focus on temperature due to mechanical work but dose the contact has to be surface to surface or its has to be node to surface.

I have created a name selection and also nodal selection of the SPG body, and in my contact definition i have scoped the master as the FEM surface and scoped the slave to the Nodes of the SPG body. this process works when i am focusing on structural analysis.

when i switch to thermal coupled analysis - its return error asking me to change to surface to surface contact for thermal simulation.

      I hope you understand now,

      Regards,

      Emmanuel
