SubscriberI am modelling gas absorption in a liquid. How to model the interphase mass transfer (i.e. species mass transfer) in Fluent between gas and liquid? What are the models available VOF multiphase model in Fluent to do so? Kindly suggest any tutorial for this gas absorption. In the numerical domain (Stepped cylinder: Nozzle and cylinder), the gas enters the domain via a nozzle located at the bottom of the numerical domain, and liquid flows parallel to the gas into the domain.

Forum ModeratorCheck how the VOF model works, I think you'll want Eulerian or multifluid VOF (an addition to the Eulerian model).
Once it's on, have a look at the phase interaction panel(s). Not sure if we have anything in the Help system beyond how the panels & models work.

SubscriberDear Rob, i have checked all the multiphase models. But my concern is how to model the mass transfer between two phases? For this interface mass transfer modelling which multiphase model is handy?
Thanks

Ansys EmployeeIs it temperature driven or concentration driven?

Ansys EmployeeIf concentration driven you might use UDF or work in 22R1 with the Hertz Knudsen mass transfer law as beta feature.

SubscriberIt is due to both temperature and concentration driven. How to model this phenomenon. If you have any relevant materials, kindly share them here.

Ansys EmployeeI cannot share any thing on this platform. Just enable beta feature and check the documentation on Hertz-Knudsen Model. Moreover you will find a large number of articles dealing with this kind of interfacial mass transfer.

SubscriberHow to enable to beta feature ?

Ansys EmployeeUse the command searcher toolbar in Fluent and it will find it for you.
Or read the manual Fluent Beta Features.
