I am currently trying to model a bolted ring flange connection to replicate the results of an investigation that looked into the stresses in the flanges. I have managed to create the geometry of the flanges but I am unsure how to model the bolts, washers and nuts as 3D objects. There is an option to assign bolts in the prepare tab but it is limited to size M39 bolts. I am currently using v2023r1. Any advice is appreciated.

You can refer this Structural Simulation using Bolt Idealization - Ansys Knowledge article to learn how to define bolts to accurately account for the load transfer between parts in an assembly and therefore compute the stress and deformation of your assembly.
