Modeling solid-solid reactions

      Hello,

I would like to simulate a solid-solid reaction. I have a fluidized bed containing two types of particles, A and B. When particle A comes into contact with particle B, they react and produce a gaseous product.

Is there a way to model this solid-solid reaction using CFD-DEM (Rocky-Fluent) or an Eulerian-Eulerian approach in Fluent ?

In E-G yes, but remember Fluent uses a volume fraction approach so it's likely you'll have more reaction than you expect as the phases can diffuse to some extent.

In Rocky there are contact models, and I think you can use the APIs to model more effects - one for the Rocky team when they wake up.
