SubscriberI wor for the first time with ANSYS and need some help. Any input is appreciated!
I try to design two coupled microwave cavities. A ring waveguide is excited via an antenna and the signal is fed into a cylindrical main cavity via round coupling holes that connect the two cavities.
I started by designing both cavities separately and use the eigenmode simulation in order to tune the dimenions of the cavities to match the desired mode and resonance freqeuncy.Â
As soon I couple the two cavities and run the eigenmode simulation I get a resonance that is slightly off. But way more confusing is the fact that when I run the driven modal simulation (of the coupled cavities) the S11 dip is at a different freqeuncy then the mode in the eigenmode simulation.Â
Why is that? I would assume that the resulting mode in the eigenmode simulation should be at the same freqeuncy as in the driven modal?
