SubscriberI am performing basic CFD analysis of the internal aerodynamic behaviour of simplieifed spoirts stadia geometries. I am trying to perform 1:1 simulations and as such require downstream lengths of the enclosure to be in the order of km to allow turbulence to resolve. I was initially using the 'Standard' Length Scale for scaled down version (1:20) and then using the scale feature in Fluent to scale it back up. This worked with minimal issues, however I need to compare results from this and doing a true 1:1 scale simulation, when trying to implement this i realised that as the 'Standard' Length Scale limits the Domain to 1km x 1km x 1km, I am required to change the Discovery File to be 'Large'. I am now trying to build up to the stadium incrementally as done for the scaled verasion, starting with just a basic cylinder (roughlyt to scale) and then adding detail however I am encountering errors with even this basic cylinder I cannot work through.Â
These issues are coming at the Generate Surface Mesh task in the Fluent Meshing Program. The errors encountered can be found below. From the sclaed down run I know that the geometric ratios of the enclosure are not inherently a problem, and with just a simple cylinder I am almost certain the geometry itself is not causing an issue. I have tried reducing the enclpsure size to be the same as the maximum i could use in the 'Normal' Length Scale and this still produces the errors (altrhough less instances). Any potential work arounds, or suggestions for trying to narrow down the root of this problem would be greatly appreciated, and I am happy to procide further details if necessary.Â
