Hello,
I am using static-mechanical analysis to investigate welds. For this I transformed a scan into a volume body.
I partitioned this body into sections, because the  operation to create a mesh failed with an error after more than 24 hours calculation time.
Calculating the mesh for the partition shown below (5 cm) takes about 10 minutes.
Calculating the mesh for a section twice as long already takes 8 hours and returns an unprocessable mesh together with the following errors (translated from German):
"Unable to create a mesh with the current meshing options and settings."
"One or more objects could not be meshed. The mesh of these objects is possibly not up-to-date. However, other objects were possibly meshed with success."As mentioned above, smaller partitions (e.g., two halves of the 8 hour object) take only ten minutes each.
What's the reason for these error messages und the high variance in calculation times?
Are there any solutions or steps I can take to prevent them? -

Hey,
Can you check the gemotry once in spaceclaim. (https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/public/////Views/Secured/corp/v242/en/spaceclaim/Discovery/user_manual/checkgeometry.html)
Try to generate a default mesh without changing any mesh setting and see if it puts out any error. If any error comes up right click on it and see what the problematic area is (fix it in spaceclaim after that)
Share some mesh setup info if the errors still don't go away. So that others can help you.
Thanks
