what mechanism should we use as a column in a floating house? we are planning to have a floater under the platform to support the mechanism from moving up and down, depending on the water level

Hello,
Can you provide more information about the type of analysis you want to perform, and the results you are interested in? For example, are you interested in the fluid mechanics, the structural analysis, or the response due to waves? The best approach for the model may depend on the physics you're solving. You might need Fluent (for CFD), or Mechanical (for structural), or Aqwa (for wave hydrodynamics), or a combination (e.g. Aqwa-Mechanical load mapping).
