SubscriberHi,
I am simulating guided waves in a carbon fibre reinforced laminate plate in ANSYS Mechanical Transient Analysis. So far, I have defined the materialitic properties as homogenous throughout the plate, but now I want to use "layered sections" to define the fibre layers. I am unable to find the option under the "Geometry" tree.
The model is a 500mm x 500mm x 2mm plate defined as a solid object. What could I be doing wrong?

Ansys EmployeeHello Robert,
Layered sections option is only available when the model has either midsurfaces or surface elemnts. Solid elements are not vaild to create layered sections.
