Lumerical License server issues on compute cluster

      I have an academic license through my university and I'm trying to use lumerical on our compute cluster. We just switched to using an ansys server licenses for Lumerical instead of the legacy license servers. I have been able to set the license server information on my PC but on our cluster I'm getting a "Could not set flexNet server" error. I have checked the log file for the licensing utility and it shows the following error:

      ERROR {"errno":-2,"syscall":"mkdir","code":"ENOENT","path":"/ansys_inc/shared_files/licensing"}

      I have tried to manually modify the License.ini file but that hasn't done anything so it's possible the ~/.config/Lumerical/License.ini file isn't the one that is being used.

      I also don't have administrator access since this is a shared filesystem.

      Help would be appreciated to try to figure out the source of the issue.

      Hi Benjamin,

      1. Make sure that the Ansys license manager is configured for shared license access. See this KB for details >>Configuring the Ansys license manager for shared access – Ansys Optics
      2. And the cluster is on the same network or can/allowed to connect to the machine running the Ansys license manager.
      3. Configure your user on the cluster to use the "License.ini" file. If set correctly, this will take precedence over the ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE variable and the Ansys client licensing settings.  See the KB for details >>Lumerical license configuration from the command line – Ansys Optics
      4. Consult with IT if the cluster is allowed to connect to your server that's hosting the Ansys license manager.
