SubscriberHello,Â
I ran a test model for a DEM simulation in LS-DYNA using both the LS-PrePost and Workbench interfaces. I’ve generated the d3plot files for both, and while I’m able to load the model and results in the Workbench interface without any issue, LS-PrePost crashes instantly when I try to load the same d3plot and this happens without any error message.
We’re specifically trying to check particle shape and size, which isn’t clearly visible in the Workbench interface, so it’s important for us to view it in LS-PrePost. Unfortunately, I’ve already tried switching from fast rendering to normal rendering using Ctrl+L, but that didn’t help. The same issue is happening on my colleagues’ systems as well as on the customer’s end.
Would you happen to have any suggestions or insight into why this might be happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Kind regards,
Ankeet. -

Hello Erik,
Thank you. I think I should do that, since the I had already followed the steps suggested by Pierre from TIG community and the problem still persists. I will raise an SR in a while.
Kind regards,
Ankeet.Â

Ansys EmployeeNo worries - have a look because the mesh for the top part 3 is not needed (we just need an empty part  3with no mesh like in the DEM example on our website). Also, you will see many errors in the output.
Â
Nevertheless, it should not crash even though the model is not set up correctly.
Â
We will help via support - closing the post here if you can.
Â
All the best
