      Hi all,

I have a 2D LS-DYNA simulation that has a pointed part that is to be penetrated (or cut) through a block. All of the elements are shell and I utilize a *CONTACT_AUTOMATIC_SURFACE_TO_SURFACE card with the block and the pointed part constrained in the z-direction. The pointed part simply just overlaps with block and does not cut through it despite them both being at z=0. This simulation works with a **CONTACT_2D_AUTOMATIC_SINGLE_SURFACE but I wanted to use a the surface to surface card to keep this simulation similar to the other ones I am running.

      Any suggestions are appreciated.
