LS-DYNA Network Task Control Inconsistency error

We recently upgraded from Ansys 2019R3 to 2021R1, and some users have experienced problems using LS-DYNA.

I was able to duplicate the error using an example from https://www.dynaexamples.com/introduction/examples-manual/misc/airbag.

      [[email protected] stuff]$ lsdyna211 i=./airbag.deploy.k

       Executing /opt/aci/ansys/2021R1/v211/ansys/bin/linx64/lsdyna_sp.e

License option : check ansys licenses only

on UNIX computers note the following change:

ctrl-c interrupts ls-dyna and prompts for a sense switch.

type the desired sense switch: sw1., sw2., etc. to continue

the execution. ls-dyna will respond as explained in the users manual

Hello It appears you are using a FlexLM license. Is that correct?

      Yes, correct.
I have reviewed the license currently in use, and it has the LS-DYNA entries in it. It does not expire until this November.
We recently moved the LM from a different host to the current one, and the license currently in use reflects this change.
I do notice that when LSDYNA displays license and platform data (when I execute it), it says "Licensed To: ", but no one is listed. Here is the section of output relevant to that.

      Features enabled in this version:|
Shared Memory Parallel
FFTW (multi-dimensional FFTW Library)
Interactive Graphics
ANSYS License (ANSYS211)
MADYMO indirect coupling (7.2 or higher)

Licensed to:

Platform: Xeon64 System
OS Level: CentOS release 6.10 uum
Compiler: Intel Fortran Compiler 16.0 SSE2
Hostname: comp-ic-0016.acii.production.int.a
Precision: Single precision (I4R4)

In another thread, I saw where I should set LSTC_LICENSE and LSTC_LICENSE_SERVER env vars, and I tried that...but it still didn't work.

We recently were running Ansys 2019R3 on our system as well as 2021R1 (2 different LMs). At that time, the user was using LS DYNA on 2019R3 and all was well. When our license expired for 2019R3 at the end of August, then the user started using LS-DYNA on 2021R1 and has had the problem since. So they've never gotten it to work on 2021R1.

The message printed on the terminal included this:
License option : check ansys licenses only
That means that there are environment variables set that cause the program to check for ANSYS licensing. It may be that LSTC_LICENSE should be unset, but check with your ANSYS Account Manager about that.

So here is the solution....use the correct license. Ansys support gave me some license-related utils to run, and looking at the output, I could see there was no LS DYNA (or "dyna") entitlement. In fact, I could see that all of the expiration dates were wrong. That led us to looking at the license file in use and discovering it was incorrect.
I told Ansys support that it would have been more helpful in the LS DYNA error message had included the word "license" in it somewhere.
Thank you all for the help.
