      Hello,

Why there is difference in d3plot results for smp d vs mpp d with CESE solver with chemically reacting flows? I am getting non physical results with mpp d solver. I am using LS-Dyna R14 version.

      Regards,

      Atish

      Hello Atish,

Please see if the following forum thread helps you: SMP vs DMP, Which one can I trust in results? (ansys.com)

      Hello Atish,

Have you tried with the latest LS-DYNA solver?

Have you tried running on 1 core in SMP and MPP? Do you get similar results? If so, then the problem may be due to domain decomposition in MPP.

What is the application for this simulation? What are you trying to do?

Ansys employees are not allowed to download models on the Ansys Forum. I think it will be difficult to troubleshoot this problem without looking at the model.

      Thank you Reno.

I tried running 1 core in SMP and 1 core MPP I get different results shown above.

1 core in MPP vs 16 core in MPP shows same initial results. If it is due to domain decomposition in MPP? Do you recommended using any *CONTROL_MPP keywords?

      Regards,

      Atish

      Hello Atish,

I don't think the problem is due to MPP decomposition if you get the same results with 1 and 16 MPP cores. There could be a defect in the code in MPP or SMP.

Have you tested with the latest LS-DYNA solver (R15.0.2)?

Could you contact your Ansys account manager to find a way to send us your model? We will need the model to do some tests and if there is a defect, we will file a defect report.

      Thanks,

      Reno.
