      Hello

I installed the latest version of ls dyna. But for mat_197, which was changed in the 2021 update, unfortunately, this update is not included in ls prepost. How long will this update be considered?

      Hello Amir,

Please install the latest LS-PrePost V4.9.8-08Sep2022. The LS-PrePost that comes with the Ansys installation is not the latest one.

      https://ftp.lstc.com/anonymous/outgoing/lsprepost/4.9/

With the latest version, you should be able to have access to *MAT197:

      Reno.

Hi Reno. For the latest version you say. IType=5 in it?

If Itype=5, FYRIM and DFRIM parameters will appear

      Hello Amir,

ITYPE=5 is still not available in the latest LSPP. Please use  a text editor to edit this option for now.

      Reno.

Hello Reno. How can I send a message to the editor?

      Hello Amir,

Open the model (.k file) with a text  editor (Notepad, PSPad, etc.) and modify the *MAT_197 keyword; set  ITYPE=5 and add  the FYRIM and DFRIM options.

      Reno.

      Hello Reno

Thank you very much for your guidance. Can you just send an example of editing? Where should I add?

      Hello Amir,

I cannot send files via the forum. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Please  consult  the LS-DYNA user manual for  the  keyword  format:

      Hello Amir,

In the manual, you can see that the FYRIM and DFRIM parameters are on card 8:

Your *MAT_197 keyword should  look like:

      Reno.

Hello Reno. thanks a lot . So I have to add fyrim and dyrim according to the picture. And enter the desired parameters under it?

    • Reno Genest
      Ansys Employee

Yes. Also, card 4 will have to be modified according the the manual when ITYPE=5. Please check the manual, because I may have  overlooked some details. All you need to know is in the user manual.

      Hello Amir,

ITYPE=5 will be available in the DEV version of LSPP (V4.10) dated after September 16, 2022. Right now it is not available, but it should be in the next few days. Look at the following link:

      Helo Reno

Is this version of ls prepost compatible with ls Dyna R13? Can I run in it?

    • Reno Genest
      Ansys Employee

Yes. You will have to download the LS-DYNA R13 solver:

      https://lstc.com/downloader/page.html

      username: user

      password: computer

If you go File > Run LS-DYNA in LS-PrePost, it will take you to LS-RUN:

You can run your LS-DYNA model (.k file) using LS-RUN. Here is a video tutorial:
