SubscriberHello, in addition to resource below, are there any good resources or example problems that can give me a good guideline on best practices for doing 2D axial symmetric problem.  I also need to include cohesive elements in this model and I think the elform is 29.  I don't want to try as I go and then find out slowly what I didn't know so if there's anything more comprehesive in terms of guides or best practices, I would really welcome the resource.

Ansys EmployeeHi Dennis,Â
Given the nature of the problem as "2D axisymmetric," it is likely necessary to use elform 46 for type 14 and 47 for type 15 axisymmetric shell elements. There are resources available on modeling cohesive elements and working with 2D models in LS-DYNA within our ALH, which may be helpful if you have access.
Alternatively, you can create a case through your customer portal to receive further guidance on this issue.
Cheers, RamÂ

SubscriberHi Ram, I will check on the ALH content.  I have to take this chance to say that I absolutely hate the new ALH system.  I know a single user's comment won't mean much but breaking the old ALH down into so many tiny segments just make things so much harder to find.   It's like taking a relatively organized matrix and broke it down so everything is scattered all over the floor.
In any case, thank you for your response!Â
