SubscriberHi,Â
Does anyone know how to locate bad mesh elements in ANSYS AIM?

Ansys EmployeeHello anshu16 Currently, it is not possible to locate bad mesh elements other than knowing the min, max values from Mesh Diagnostics panel. We thank you for sharing your feedback. We will share your idea/input with the product development team. One way to highlight these min, max locations is from Results task. You can add mesh metrics variable and then view the mesh contour on a plane and display the min, max locations of selected metrics.-

Ansys Employeeanshu16 If your simulation is able to run you can create mesh quality in the results task. This may allow you to identify areas which have low quality. You can use Iso-Surface or Section Cuts objects to identify internal mesh.

SubscriberAndrew Stankovich Thank you, my simulation fails because of negative volume elements and hence i am not able to check anything further.

Ansys Employeeanshu16 Please try changing the minimum and maximum element size or trying a different global sizing control to achieve a mesh that will not cause problems during the solve.
