I have both Scdm and Ansys Discovery installed next to Ansys Workbench. When i try to open or import a .scdoc in Ansys Workbench it wants to open it in scdm, while not always a license for Scdm might be available. How can i change this to opening and importing the model with discovery spaceclaim?

 

Note: Discovery Spaceclaim does not appear in my cad configuration manager.

I don't think this is possible because SCDM and Discovery SpaceClaim have different license structure. SCDM is a part of Workbench license and thus from Workbench, only SCDM can be launched. I will cross check it and let you know.

As a workaround, you can first open the model in Discovery SpaceClaim and then use the Workbench plugin to transfer model to Workbench.

I checked and confirmed that Discovery SpaceClaim cannot be launched from Workbench.
