SubscriberDear All,
I am exploring to simulate blast pressure response of steel structure using beam elements in Explicit dynamics.
My blast loads are triangular impulse pattern (100 millisecond duration & analysis time 1 second).
But explicit dynamics not accepting line pressure as tabular format.
Is there any fix for this? Thanks in Advance for help.

Ansys EmployeeYes, it is true that Line Pressure must be constant in order to apply it to beam elements.
You can convert the pressure to force and then use Force BC in tabular form to apply the blast load to beam elements.

SubscriberThanks for your thoughts..
It was mentioned in Explicit analysis guide that Line pressure cannot be applied in time varying tabular format.
Is it possible to apply (blast) line pressures as function (either by log function or by Fourier transform time varying pressures)?
since my model is bit large (global FPSO Topside), i do prefer not have more nodes for applying forces.
and finally, does LS Dyna accepts time varying line pressure on Beam elements?
