Licenses do not connect to sever

      Hello.

I have three licenses since last year, we used them with no problems.

When the computers restarted, ansys optics 2022 R2.4 do not conect to the server.

Only programs in server computer are operated. And I checked the ansys license manager. The licenses are well running.

I think there is no problem to run program.

So should we assume that I fail to connect to license sever because of the wrong TCP/IP port number in this case?

TCP/IP port number, I used in this trial, is the same port number when I had used to connet.

I do not have any idea to fix this.

If you have any solution for this problem, would you give me some advises?

      Thank you.

what error are you seeing while launching the application on the client end machine? Can you share the screenshot or copy-paste the error message?

      Hello.

I got this message. (I erased the server IP address.)

Open a command prompt and try this command..

      ping SERVERNAME

Do you get a response from a IP address?

      Hello, VJ.

      Thanks for your comment.

ping SERVERNAME (on server computer), it works.

Also I checked the ipconfig to know the ip used for FDTD license and the ip of the server matched.

Is there any option to fix?

I found the AnsRegSvr program to obtain the correct host ID, which is posted on customer support space.

Would I use that program to check the host ID?

Is the software and license on the same machine?

Yes, they are on the same machine.

OPen a powershell and try this command and see what the outcome is..

        Test-NetConnection -computername IPADDRESS -port 1055

replace IPADDRESS with the IP ADDRESS value of your machine.

Does the TCP test return 'True' value?

      Hello, Vj.

      Thanks for your help.

I tried this and I got the true value.

I attached the screen shot. Is this right?  And the licenses do not still work..

What is the server name printed in the license file? You can open the license file and check the first line. Can you try using that in the licensing settings instead of the IP address to see if that helps?

      @ejlee0911

Ensure that you have configured the license file/server for license sharing as shown in this Knowledge Base (KB) guide — allowed access to the ports (TCP: 1055, 1056, 2325) used by the Ansys LM on the server.

If you are accessing the license from the same machine, configure Lumerical to obtain the license from the localhost as shown in the Knowledge Base (KB).

      @Lito Yap

      Thanks for your comments.

I have found that the VENDER didn't have static port, so I edited the 'ansyslmd.lic' file to contain the port=1056 .

And I have added inbound rule in Windows firewall, checked the hostname.

      It dosent fixed.

Did you restart the Ansys license manager after making the changes?
Are you running a third party anti virus or security software on the server?
Are the client computers running Ansys Lumerical connected to the same local network as the license server running the Ansys LM?
Or are the client computers connecting from "home" via the internet?
