SubscriberHello All,Â
After a reboot of our license server, we are required to reconfigure the licensing for LS-Dyna. Is this expected behavior? Do you have any workarounds? Any help is much appreciated.Â

Ansys EmployeeHello Andrew,
What error messages are you getting when trying to start the LSTC License Manager after rebooting your license server? Is the license server a virtual machine?
Note that the latest LSTC License Manager dates from 2016 and it was not meant to be used on a virtual machine (VM). It is possible that the server ID (as seen by the LSTC License Manager) changes after some modifications to the VM (software and hardware) and rebooting. When this happens, a new LSTC license file needs to be issued. There is no workarounds.
To avoid this problem in the future, we recommend installing the LSTC License Manager on a "bare metal" physical license server and not on a VM.Â
Also, at some point in the future (hopefully near future), you will be able to use the Ansys License Manager to run LSTC LS-DYNA products. The Ansys License Manager uses flexlm technology and it works well on a VM.

Let me know if this answers your question.

Reno.
